About the Institute
The institute was established in 1904 under the name "Pathology Laboratory" within the Veterinary Medicine Faculty at Cairo University in Giza. It was later modernized and renamed the "General Administration of Veterinary Laboratories and Hot Research" in its current building on Hunting Club Street in Dokki.
The institute and its branches in the governorates of the republic continued to develop. In 1983, Law No. 12 of 1986 was issued, approving the organizational structure of the Agricultural Research Center. Additionally, Law No. 144 of 1978 designated the institutes affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
Subsequently, the Veterinary Health Research Institute was divided into three independent institutes:
- The main institute in Dokki and its laboratories.
- The Institute of Veterinary Sera and Vaccines in Abbasia.
- The Institute of Animal Reproduction Research in Haram.
